My technology career began in the United States Air Force, where I served as an electronic warfare systems technician. It was there that I developed an appreciation for the value of reliable, well documented systems.
After that, I served in a technical support role for the Chrysler dealers’ computer network.
In the mid 2000’s, I joined a startup as their network administrator and their second employee. Within 18 months, that company had grown two orders of magnitude and eventually became part of the largest private equity deal in Canadian history. I exited as the Director of IT.
Next, I managed a joint venture in the sports media industry between two prominent Canadian CEOs, and was responsible for a technical team of approximately 25.
After that venture was sold, I started Picobits at the request of a couple of former colleagues, who were looking to subcontract work to me. With that in mind, I felt I also had a way to provide something to small businesses that seems to be difficult to find -- smart and friendly IT help that understands the challenges small businesses face. Picobits was founded in July of 2007.
